Nine dental assistants work on the east side of the dental clinic floor. The assistants enjoy working and helping the students throughout their day. They assist students in radiology with X-rays, NOMAD X-rays, charting for treatment plans, taking impressions, mixing materials and cementing crowns, and they help students and new patients through assessment, reminding them of the importance of infection control.
The assistants of the east side clinic have a combined 155 years of dental experience and over 65 years working at Creighton.
|Julee Davis, Radiology and CBCT assistant, has been an assistant for 28 years and has worked at Creighton for 16 years. Julee’s favorite thing about her job is working with the students. She says they keep her laughing and young. She also loves the Bluejays!|
|Kathy Purdy, Radiology assistant, has been a dental assistant for seven years, and joined the Creighton team about three years ago. Kathy loves the collegiality at Creighton and getting to work with the students on a daily basis while assisting them in their journey of lifelong learning.|
|Michelle Purdy-Eslira, Radiology assistant, has been an assistant for eight years and came to Creighton two and half years ago. Michelle loves working with the students, helping guide them based on her past dental experiences and preparing them for the future.|
|Heather Mauer, the newest addition to the east side of the dental clinic, has been a dental assistant for five years and has been at Creighton for a year and a half. Her favorite part about working at Creighton is the people she works with.|
|Melissa Frazier, Diagnostic Sciences assistant, has been with the dental school for seven years. She works in the Assessment clinic as well as the Radiology Department. She enjoys working with the students and assisting them with different dental procedures.|
|Shari Snyder, Diagnostic Sciences assistant, worked for 32 years in pediatric and orthodontic dentistry and was ready for a change, joining the Creighton dental team in 2018. She loves working with all the students as they are just starting their careers.|
|Denese Bronson, Prosthodontics assistant, has been an assistant for 35 years and has worked at Creighton for 31 years. What she likes most about her job is working with the students, along with faculty and staff. She believes in Creighton's mission and serving others.|
|Terri Claussen, Prosthodontics assistant, has been a dental assistant for 18 years, working at Creighton for one year. Terri enjoys assisting the students through their dental education and seeing them progress and succeed throughout the year. She also loves her co-workers and the faculty at Creighton.|
|Michele Murphy, Clinic lead assistant, has been a dental assistant for 15 years. She has been at Creighton for two years and enjoys working with the dental students and faculty. She finds helping the students grow and progress each year into their future profession very rewarding.|
