Dr. Terry Lanphier, BS’78, DDS’82, MBA’10 has been associate professor of oral and maxillofacial surgery at Creighton’s School of Dentistry since 2001. He also is the regional president of Summit Dental Health, PC.
Dr. Lanphier is a committed and passionate teacher and serves as director of the dental school’s local anesthesia and pain control course. He also is a clinic instructor for oral surgery courses.
In addition to his teaching commitments and accomplishments, Dr. Lanphier is known as a dentist – both practicing and academic – who furthers the interests of the community and Creighton University through outstanding professional conduct, collegiality and citizenship in the academic dental community.
He has served on several University-wide committees, including the University Athletic Board Compliance Committee, the Committee on Student Discipline and the Committee on Financial Advisory. Additionally, he has served on numerous School of Dentistry committees, including the Committee on Planning and Assessment, the Student-Faculty Advisory Committee, the Alumni Advisory Board, and the Strategic Planning and Assessment Committee, among others.
He is known throughout the School of Dentistry for his compassion for others. His advocacy for dentally underserved patients is evidenced by his longstanding practice of providing a free day of dentistry annually. Also, with the help of many Creighton University dental students, he has provided much needed dental care for incarcerated men and women.
