The Creighton School of Dentistry is proud to host a number of student organizations. These provide additional opportunities for learning outside of the classroom and clinic, as well as opportunities for collaboration, service, leadership—and fun.
American Student Dental Association (ASDA)
The American Student Dental Association is a national student-run organization that protects and advances the rights, interests and welfare of dental students. It introduces students to lifelong involvement in organized dentistry and provides services, information, education, representation and advocacy.
As a member of ASDA, you’ll receive education in debt and practice management, develop leadership and interpersonal skills, and have opportunities to network with seasoned dental professionals, among other benefits.
Hispanic Student Dental Association
As a student group operating in the Creighton School of Dentistry, the Hispanic Student Dental Association seeks to promote good dental education and oral hygiene practices through extensive volunteer initiatives. These endeavors focus on underrepresented minority groups in the Greater Omaha area and involve patient education and dental screenings. Members also work alongside other dental and medical student groups both on campus and in the community. HSDA networks members with local and national health care professionals to foster growth and personal development, educating students on the health care problems affecting vulnerable communities both near and far. Further, Spanish lessons are offered at meetings, emphasizing dental clinical settings. Membership is available to undergraduate and graduate students.
National Honor Societies
Student National Dental Association (SNDA)
The Student National Dental Association connects, supports, and advances the needs of underrepresented dental students nationwide; it also has as its mission the cultivation of a strong academic and social environment for said students.
As a member of SNDA, you’ll have the opportunity to be involved with a strong network of your peers as we work together to improve the field of dentistry for underrepresented dental students.
